Department Overview
The CRES/IT engineering department provides critical engineering services to both front office and back office clients across the Barclays business clusters as an internal service provider. This is achieved through first class, effective management in the three main areas of engineering services - operations, maintenance and projects. The CRES/IT engineering team consists of a relatively small number of experienced and skilled individuals who are responsible for setting engineering standards and ensuring their enforcement. The core deliverables of the team are 100% uptime of critical business functions, efficient operation and continuous improvement.
Main Function
This position will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, design and installation of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEPF) systems at multiple branch locations throughout the Americas Region. Also, this position will be required to apply engineering and management expertise as required by the Head of Engineering - Americas Region. The primary focus is to ensure that all MEPF infrastructure is designed, operated and maintained to provide 100% availability to our clients.

Person Requirements
• Five years of experience in management, design review maintenance and operations of MEPF systems in commercial buildings. Financial sector experience is preferred. • Extensive experience with computerized maintenance management system and building management system utilization. • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of resources. • Knowledge of materials, methods and resources involved in the operation, maintenance, design, construction or repair of MEPF systems in commercial buildings. • Existing relationships with vendors and industry contacts throughout the Americas. • Experience with financial tools and systems required to manage, track and report on costs and budgets. • BSME or BSEE preferred. Equivalent technical and/or managerial qualifications will be accepted.
