Department Overview
The Finance department covers Product and Financial Control. Both Product and Financial Control are jointly responsible for the integrity of the financial records of Barclays Capital.

The Balance Sheet control team is a critical part of the NY Fixed Income Product Control group which is aligned to support the Rates trading business. The Rates trading business is a major market maker in Government bonds, Agency bonds, flow and exotic interest rate derivatives.



Main Function
Provide support to the Rates trading business within a controlled environment.

Main Duties

The position will be responsible for

· Calculation and analysis of daily, monthly, and quarterly balance sheet on a global basis

· Month-end close of non-trading business areas and general ledger reviews

· Preparation of monthly revenue and balance sheet movement commentary

· Assist front office with its capital management responsibilities

· Provide ad-hoc reporting to Finance, Senior Management, Trading, and other support areas.

· Respond to ad-hoc queries around balance sheet, funding, trade strategy and trade economics, etc.

· Work closely with Financial Control to ensure the integrity of financial data.

· Preparation of monthly FAS157 disclosure

· Serve as liaison on behalf of Rates Finance for requests from various business groups

· Analysis of FX risk/revaluation exposure and related execution of revenue transfers.

· Assist with various infrastructure and capability enhancement projects with IT, project teams, etc.,

· Analysis of monthly funding charges specific to futures trading.

· Manage rotating Analyst and assist with any questions or support needed

· Provide back up support for the Collateral P&L process as well as the daily DDA funding processAddress audit requests raised to the group

Person Requirements
Essential : · Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance · 6 + years work experience within Finance or product control · understanding of relevant US GAAP or IFRS accounting standards

· Experience with SOX reporting and documentation

· Competitive knowledge and understanding of financial markets

· Experience working against tight short-term deadlines in a dynamic, pressured environment Preferred : · CPA or CFA· Exposure to balance sheet control processes · Knowledge of Fixed Income products.
