If you can offer the right mix of banking experience and first-class analytical skills, we’d like to hear from you at the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Our Asset Liability Management and Liquidity team carries out specialist reviews of the treasury functions within regulated firms. Your role will involve working alongside stakeholders at these firms, as well as the Bank of England, HM Treasury and international regulators, to implement the new Individual Liquidity Adequacy Standards regime.

As a Risk Specialist in our expanding team, you’ll help to identify potential liquidity problems in the 400 or so banking institutions that fall under the regime. Conducting liquidity reviews and taking on internal project work, as well as working directly on firm-specific work, will all fall within your remit. You’ll also undertake market monitoring, analyse firm-specific baseline data and carry out onsite inspections into treasury operations. All of this will require you to build strong working relationships with firm supervisors, identifying areas of concern, reporting your findings and making appropriate recommendations.

Whether you’ve worked in a bank treasury or in a broader investment bank environment, we’ll be looking for strong project management, data analysis and investigative skills. A good understanding of the financial sector, a good degree in a quantitative subject, or equivalent experience, is also essential, while exposure to group treasury functions, managing risk and developing liquidity policies would be an advantage.

If you’d like to help shape the future of the financial services sector, you can find out more and apply by clicking on the button below and search under reference R00006.

Closing date: 4th December 2009.
