Our client is a leading investment bank specialising in the UK and European equity and debt markets. Their services include equity and fixed income research, institutional sales and trading, equity market making, corporate finance and corporate broking.

They now seek to appoint a senior Analyst or Associate to join their Fixed Income team in London, which originates and places deals, primarily for mid market corporate clients in the UK. The position will report to the head of Debt Capital Markets and work closely with colleagues in Corporate Finance.

The position will encompass origination and execution, and responsibilities include:

-         Assessing of company profiles, analyzing credit and leverage and determining suitability for a bond or private placement.

-         Preparing presentations and pitchbooks.

-         Following transactions in the market, monitoring market development and collating information on deals.

-         As part of the team, execution on bond mandates.

Suitable candidates will have strong capabilities in:

-         Modelling, Powerpoint skills and spreadsheet/database skills

-         General corporate finance skills

-         Advanced credit skills

-         Potential to support management of bond issue

-         A basic understanding of the capital market

Candidates are likely to have Leveraged or Structured Finance, High Yield or M&A (with good credit knowledge) background. An ACA qualification would be preferable.
