The Commodity Operations group consists of approx 70 members of staff split into various teams. The successful candidate will join a 4 person team of power, gas & emissions operations with the potential for expansion of team in 2010.  There will be future potential to move within the Commodities Operations group or other Operational areas within Morgan Stanley.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Completion / supervision of non-standard tasks including complex OTC settlements, capacity settlements, closeouts and novations, account opening, grid capacity affirmations and internal/external reconciliations, and establishing and renewing LCs, including problem resolution and reporting.
- Completion / supervision of projects to improve processes, including writing technical specifications, reviewing requirements with IT and ongoing liaison, completion of UAT and implementation
- Potential future involvement and contribution to business expansion including set up, documentation, and implementation of new business for power, gas and emissions
- Understanding of the trade lifecycle, products, processes and systems, and ensuring risk controls are fully understood, documented, and implemented by the team on an ongoing basis.
- Workflow management and - delete supervision, risk control and escalation, responsibility for KRI and KPI reporting

Skills Required
- Experience in power, gas and emissions operations
- Experience in management - delete strong risk awareness and guardianship skills
- Organisational skills and resilience - ability to handle pressure in high workload situations, prioritising effectively and delivering against deadlines
- Initiative - high level of self-motivation, ability to take responsibility for tasks and supervise team workload
- Experience in banking environment
- Degree qualified or equivalent
