Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CAF Bank Chief Operating Officer leads the firm’s operational team based in CAF’s headquarters in Kent. The successful candidate will be required on occasion to spend time in the London offices, but the majority of time will be spent in West Malling. The role will be responsible for the overall leadership, management and business direction of the Bank’s operational resources, delivering a high standard of operational efficiency and customer service in the market for retail banking services available to charities. A key member of the Bank’s ‘senior management team arrangements’ the COO undertakes the “4-eyes responsibility” alongside the Bank’s CEO. The role will initially also be responsible for the operational line management of the CAF Investment Services Operations Team, and expertise in treasury management and money-market products would be an advantage. The post of CAF Bank COO is an ‘Approved Person’ under the FSA handbook and appropriate qualifications and experience are therefore prerequisites. Forms APER and SIF require to be completed for this post. To develop and deliver the Bank’s long range operational plan through effective management of the day to day business operations and senior operational management team. To oversee operations ensuring that clients receive a quality service with all aspects of service delivery dealt with in a timely and effective manner, whilst delivering against agreed budgetary cost and staff resource constraints. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will: Have a strong track record in retail banking roles, preferably in the UK financial services industry with a broad knowledge of banking practice and retail market development. Have experience of successfully building a framework for delivering multiple customer service channels, including telephony and internet based.
