Role Overview
This role has a global remit within a fast growing industry segment, which is looking to invest in its global marketing strategy and is an opportunity for someone with broad marketing experience to extend a strong global brand and to develop a world class solutions team. You will be based in our London offices, however extensive travel to our offices, customers and industry events is required to build and maintain effective relationships with key business stakeholders.
Job Description
The role requires close co-operation with the management team within the Buy Side vertical (including product management, operations, pre-sales and sales directors) and the corporate marketing function. The role will provide the leadership of the Go to Market process for the Buy Side vertical as a whole.
Managing a small team and utilizing input and resources from across the business, the candidate will:
• Develop and manage Algo’s overall Buy Side Go To Market plan by producing marketing positioning statements, communicating these into campaigns to communicate internally and externally, and develop the means to align all marketing campaigns, initiatives and product roadmaps in the context of this strategy. This will require extensive executive, senior management and market contact, effective synthesis of raw and developing ideas, rigorous analysis, and clarity of thought; • Diligently undertake extensive market assessment and subsequently lead efforts, supported by corporate marketing and Buy Side product management, to define, position and articulate Algo’s Buy Side solutions and services to the market at large and specifically to relevant tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 financial institutions on a global basis; • Able to comprehensively productize the market offering for each Buy Side industry segment, delivering a clear road map strategy based on Product Management plans and to articulate the Value Proposition of the solutions, alone and in combination; • Develop and lead a strategy for the creation and maintenance of all internal and external product collateral necessary to deliver a structured consolidated go-to-market strategy. This includes development of standardized sales toolkits, by solution, and targeted toward key audiences; • Develop and maintain a competitive intelligence process.
Primary Responsibilities • Develop go-to-market strategies to maximize revenue and share in the target markets integrating marketing, product management and pre-sales • Define the Go to Market plan for Buy Side marketing events, seminars, conferences, analyst and press relations and other outbound activities • Develop messaging, positioning, sales collateral & tools, and marketing collateral • Perform competitive analysis, industry positioning and brand messaging • Create and execute enablement programs for the sales and partner channel • Work with partners to build mind share, market share, and create pipeline • Engage in industry and trade organizations to help the company be seen as a thought leader in the market place • Support the product management team in developing product strategy and requirements • With the support of product and sales management functions and the regional Managing Directors, be responsible for the management of pricing of our solutions and services in the relevant geographical markets. • Drive collaborative teamwork with sales, product management, corporate marketing and engineering
Job Qualifications & Competencies • Extensive experience in marketing in the high-tech industry (preferably enterprise or multi-product software vendors), including marketing management positions • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple product owners, whilst being able to develop and maintain a Go to Market and Enterprise positioning consistency and direction in the market. • Proven ability to analyze new opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and to successfully execute the appropriate strategy. • The individual should be able to articulate highly technical solutions for customer problems to both internal and external audiences. • The individual must have sufficient technical skills to understand the nature of customer’s business needs and problems and a strong ability to comprehend how Algo’s solutions will solve these customer problems. • Experience in complex software and services solutions or a related discipline is essential, ideally with a strong understanding of the financial services market or risk management software • Strong interpersonal, presentation, writing and editing skills • Proven success in creating and executing marketing programs • Proven experience of managing high performing and dispersed team • Masters or Bachelor degree from accredited university in business, marketing or a related discipline • Ability to communicate new visions and initiatives in a compelling way to inspire people to act towards a common objective. • Demonstrate the ability to find creative and timely solutions to roadblocks, problems, and insufficient information. • Proven ability to build an effective team and support team members by visibly rewarding, recognizing and encouraging team contribution across geographical locations.
