Associate – Corporate Control

BlackRock's infrastructure groups encompass myriad essential corporate functions that support every BlackRock employee and client, and every aspect of the firm's business.

The Finance team is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, measurement and control of the financial resources of BlackRock and its subsidiaries. The Finance Group is comprised of three units: Accounting Policy and Controls, Business Finance and Corporate Controllers. General functions include financial accounting, financial reporting, management accounting, treasury, tax accounting, compensation/payroll accounting, auditing and certain other compliance functions.

The Associate will report into the Vice President in the Corporate Control Group responsible for the global general ledger controls and analysis. The individual in this role will be an integral component of the month-end close process, which includes working with Oracle G/L and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) applications.

The primary aspects of this function are:

  • Analyze the monthly international P&L Flash (Forecast vs. Actual & Actual vs. Actual) for senior management
  • Analyze the monthly international Balance Sheet analytics package
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required for heavy interaction with global peers
  • Advocate & manage ad hoc projects (system upgrades, process improvements, etc.)

System Requirements:

  • Oracle G/L
  • Hyperion Financial Management (System 9 or higher) & Smartview
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word

Education Discipline:

BS Accounting (MBA a plus)

CPA Preferred

Work Experience:

This function requires between 3 and 5 years work experience in the financial services industry, preferably including 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience.
