Opportunity for an experienced banker, management consultant or veteran of Development Finance to play a major role for an industry leader in Sub Saharan banking.

The client: A major investment bank with a very strong and long established presence in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and other Emerging Markets.

The mandate  To lead the coverage of Developmental Organisations – DFIs, Microfinance institutions, Finance Ministry, Relevant NGOs etc) in Nigeria as part of the Financial Institutions team. Implement the group’s strategy for the region with emphasis on revenue growth. Role based in Lagos, Nigeria.

The individual should possess:

• A minimum of seven years experience in Financial Markets and/or Investment Banking

• Excellent contacts in Developmental Organisations active in Nigeria

• The necessary gravitas to command respect at senior levels within Developmental Organisations

• A broad understanding of Financial Institutions’ business

• Detailed understanding of one or more key areas such as BANKS, sales process, relationship management, risk, product sales etc.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• A willingness to challenge the status quo

• Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent eye for detail.

• A successful track record managing a team

• Eligibility to work in Nigeria

In addition, it would be advantageous if:

• The individual has an appreciation for the cultural nuances involved in conducting business wit Development Organisations

• He or she has experience of working within matrix organisational structures within a large banking / consulting institution

• The individual is fluent in one or more of the major Nigerian languages.
