Main Purpose of Job:  

Responsible for providing incisive value-add financial support and analysis, for the Life Science business unit, facilitating effective decision-making.

Coordinate and produce all monthly reporting and forecasting, manage and coordinate the annual and strategic planning deliverables and provide value added analysis and interpretation of results.  This should be accomplished whilst ensuring that relevant policies and controls are being followed and that business processes are efficient and effective

Develop team, building high performance culture, ensuring that structure is appropriate to support the business need, key objectives and priorities

Specific finance responsibilities will include –

• Monthly reporting with value added variance analysis against plan, latest forecast and prior year, delivered within deadline

• Manage relationship with central consolidation team to ensure that structure of results in SAP and Cognos are optimal and validated, and that reporting is systematic

• Working with management in the business unit to understand Plan/ LE variance and for creating and implementing effective tactics to achieve/exceed the Plan targets

• Responsible for the annual plan for the Life Sciences SBU, provide financial leadership during the planning and budgeting process and ensure the information developed is reasonable, complete and accurate.  Provide trending and other analytics in support of the annual Strategic Planning process

• Lead all financial aspects of the annual Planning of the Portfolio/ Capital Management process.

• Responsible for tracking and reporting on Sales Metrics

• Assist in business case reviews for Life Science specific projects.

• Provide support to integrate finance functions into TR of acquisitions as appropriate.                               

• Assist in the development of the Life Sciences commission schemes.

• Provide support to the VP of FP&A and EVP of Life Sciences on ad hoc projects as required

• Deputise team members / your line manager as and when required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Qualified Accountant with proven finance related experience.  

• Commercially focused with a track record of providing value-add financial analysis

• Proactive, questioning and change orientated

• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills

• Confident, team player

• Solid track record of building high performance teams

• Independent – ability to work on own initiative

• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

• Systems orientated
