Most of the Division's work is firm-facing, consisting mainly of on-site visit work or thematic horizontally-focussed project work. There is a vacancy for a Manager of the Capital Planning Team involving: • Specialist review of capital modelling within regulated firms to whom we offer our services. • Working closely with the supervisors of major regulated firms, the main areas of responsibility of the team are leading cross-discipline stress testing exercises for major regulated firms, Pillar 2 reviews under Basel 2 for banks and investment firms, • Help to shape the Department by contributing to an integrated view of capital issues facing banks and investment firms and other financial service firms to whom we offer our services • Drive forward the team's initiatives in credit risk modelling, • Manage the team's Pillar 2 work: principally through review of economic capital models, concentration risk, and capital management The role will demand strong leadership, energetic drive to produce capital assessments as well as highly-developed staff management capabilities. The manager will need to demonstrate an ability to lead, coordinate and direct the work of a highly developed group of technical staff. Confidence and excellent communication skills are needed since the role entails engagement and explanation at the highest levels within the organisation and on client site. Essential: • Familiarity with regulatory standards, in particular with the CRD capital provisions under Pillar 2 and the Handbook requirements on stress testing. • Accountancy Qualification • Experience gained in a financial services organisation in one or more of the following areas: capital management, stress testing, or economic capital modelling This is a high-profile role in which you will have the opportunity to shape the future of regulation both domestically and internationally.
