 Within our Risk Management department we currently have a vacancy for the position of (Senior) Risk Manager. The Risk Management control framework focuses on protecting the ING IM organisation and fulfilling its fiduciary obligation towards its clients. The Risk Management department is divided into 5 teams:

  • Operational Risk Management
  • Investment Restriction Monitoring
  • Fund Risk & Systems Technology
  • PAS Risk & Credit Risk
  • Risk Governance, Policies & Solutions (RGPS)

The vacancy for the position of (Senior) Risk Manager is within the Risk Goverance, Policies & Solutions team.
 Your responsibilities will include:

  • To contribute to the implementation of the agreed visions and strategy for Risk Management
  • To proactively align with (strategic) business developments of ING IM
  • To contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of risk policies, procedures and standards and oversee the adherence to them
  • To monitor, control, report, analyse and advise on the investment and credit risks of the Solutions department
  • To manage the Seed Capital process
  • To contribute to periodical meetings, reports/dashboards (including European Risk Committee, Market & Credit Risk Committee, regulatory reports, ING Group reports) and advise on risk management to stakeholders
  • To contribute to the design and implementation of the department's annual communication plan, and to the development and availability of training programs for ING IM staff as well as for RM staff
  • To contribute to the resolution of audit findings and provide monthly updates on the resolution progress
  • To manage relationships with the other Risk Management teams, ING IM departments and with departments of ING Group (e.g. Corporate Risk Management)
  • To represent RGPS/Risk Management when requested in local/regional/global projects, relevant meetings/committees and provide input

 Yes, we know this is asking a lot, but the people this appeals to know they have what it takes. In terms of academic achievement and personal development, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:

  • Masters' degree, preferably in a finance, economics or business discipline
  • CFA or another relevant professional qualification in investment management is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years (8 years for Senior) of experience in asset management or related industry
  • Minimum of 5 years (8 years for Senior) of experience in investment risk and/or credit risk, preferably in an international asset management/banking environment
  • Strong affinity with IT, data processing and risk measurement systems
  • Experience in interpreting and implementing laws and regulations from risk management's perspective
  • Proven ability to identify and address business issues by applying market knowledge and creative reasoning
  • Ability to manage projects from a distance and to work with tight deadlines
  • Required competencies: drive to win, result oriented, influencing skills, team player mentality, social skills, focus, resilience, client driven, ability to create future value and to manage and lead others
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in French is a plus
