Compliance Manager required for International refining and chemicals company, to be based in UK or Geneva

Compliance Manager required for International refining and chemicals company, to be based in UK or Geneva

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the management of country specific commercial and chemical compliance regulations and will have the opportunity to work in multiple European Jurisdictions, as well as Asia supporting a growing global business

Areas of focus include: Anti-competition, Market manipulation, Intellectual Property, Anti-corruption, Government Interactions, Anti-money laundering, Import/Export, Product Stewardship/EU REACH, EU MiFID, UK FSA, Sanctions/Boycotts, and Records Management

Key expectations include:

  • The identification and systematic documentation of local regulations
  • Monitoring of emerging issues
  • Performance of self assessments to ascertain compliance status
  • Assist in the development of compliance procedures and corresponding training programs as needed that the businesses will implement
  • Oversee the implementation of comprehensive compliance management systems designed to assure compliance with the regulations and internal standards
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, the Compliance Director, and business product line managers to achieve the best results for business

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or above and have experience with European regulatory framework and regulatory research capability. Experience in management of legal/compliance consultants and in development of training materials and compliance procedures is also required

Travel will be required 30 - 40% of the time (initial travel may be higher)
