Morgan Stanley is looking to recruit an experienced Business Analyst to join the Derivatives Projects team. This role will join a growing team to deliver global projects across the Derivatives Operations space.
The opportunity being offered here is to join as a business analyst. The immediate focus of the successful candidate will be: • Getting involved with in flight projects in various stages from testing to analysis, be responsible for delivery of certain phases of these projects . • Analyse issues with the current applications and processes and identify solutions. If the solution requires a change to the system: write a requirements document / functional specification of the required change, work with IT to code the change, write test packs for testing the change, co-ordinate testing with Derivative Operations, co-ordinate the implementation of the code change and provide post-implementation support. • Deliver projects to bring major change to the processes through significant enhancement of the current systems or through the delivery of the future state systems as part of a team of more senior business analysts. This will involve writing requirements documents, working with senior members of Derivative Operations and IT to design solutions, writing test plans, co-ordination and execution of testing, user training, co-ordination of the implementation of the code changes and providing post-implementation support.
Skills Required • Knowledge of interest and credit derivative product and process and as ability to recognize deficiencies or improvement opportunities and recommend best practices based on prior experiences. • Ability to help prioritise renovation investment and translate business objectives & requirements into a program of renovation initiatives. • Ability to manage stakeholders for the programs, understanding the priorities of these stakeholders and ensure that these global programs meet the needs of the business. Provide status updates on the progress of the programmes to stakeholders. • Ability to ensuring that the business case for renovation work is transparent, understood and committed to by all key stakeholders in all regions across Operations, IT, Finance and the Equity Business Units (where appropriate). • Ability to undertake thorough business analysis is performed and accurate & detailed business requirements are developed with the support of the appropriate Operations resources. • Ability to develop strong relationships with IT colleagues to design, develop and implement technology platforms to deliver solutions to these business requirements. • Ability to develop comprehensive and robust test cases/plans and co-ordinating the execution of these tests to ensure successful delivery of these technology platforms. • Ability to work with other DPG teams to develop best practice methodologies and approaches for business analysis, for delivery of technology, and process solutions to business problems.
