Department Sales Department overviewAccount Management is a key function within Markit and is responsible for client-facing activity including co-ordination of sales coverage to maximise cross-selling opportunities; contract renewals; roll-out of new products via beta testing and overall business development. Position summary Account Management – Europe This is a senior appointment in Markit’s European account management team with responsibility for a Germany and German speaking Europe, where a number of our largest and most important clients are based. The successful candidate will have broad experience in financial markets, account management and the ability to manage complex relationships. Duties & accountabilities- Development and execution of an account management plan
- Relationship maintenance and development with key relationships
- Working with product/sales groups in the execution of contracts
- Renewal of existing contracts
- Strategic work and thinking with client base to identify new initiatives and partnership opportunities
- Development of the infrastructure and process’s to support account management
- Internal communication and reporting
- Participation in specific project teams towards launch of new products and services
Business competenciesEducation and experience oBroad based experience with another market data vendor or investment bank at a senior level with exposure to managing complex relationships and/or process’s oKnowledge and experience of capital markets and especially OTC derivatives and/or structured credit oStrong written and verbal communication skills oStrong inter-personal and influencing skills oFluency in German is required Commercial awareness Key requirement of managing complex relationships towards the main objective of increasing revenue streams year-on-year in line with the account plan Management requirements Ability to inspire and influence peers and colleagues across the firm through industry expertise and excellence in all aspects of communication and leadership Personal competenciesPersonal impact Must be able to manage senior level meetings Communication Good communication skills both written and verbal required for complex commercial and business discussions Teamwork Needs to build internal relationships as well as external ones.
