IT Risk Analyst

Role Summary:
The IT Risk Planning & Assessment IB Assessor will report to the Head of IT Risk Planning & Assessment Americas IB and provides risk identification, assessment, and consulting services to business and IT partners to ensure that key IT risks in Investment Banking IT in the Region are appropriately mitigated.

This includes delivering IT risk and security assessments of applications and infrastructure, reviews of new and existing technologies, understanding and managing risk appetites and risk profiles, and managing the planning and assessment tools. Knowledge of Investment Banking is encouraged.
The Role Involves:
• Lead, conduct, and/or coordinate risk and security assessment and risk opinion engagements, in the area of IB IT in the Americas.
• Interface with the key IB IT clients in the region ensuring an adequate IT risk coverage.
• Serve as a contact point for IT Risk Americas in relation to IB matters affecting the region (based on assigned department)
• Evaluate controls against firm Information Security Standards
• Deliver in a fast moving and changing environment to deliver to the IT Risk and IT Americas strategy.
• Interface with clients to collect information as required for assessments, concepts and reporting requirements.
• Work with IT & the business on controls to be implemented to ensure a secure, controlled and manageable risk environment.
• Manage the client's risk register, including reporting and follow-up.
• Assure that the client is being kept updated on any new IT risk management developments, such as new methodologies, policies, tools and/or services.
• Communicate IT risk requirements and best practices to staff, consultants and vendors via presentations, training programs, memos, websites, and other relevant media
To Qualify, You Must Possess:
Required Skills:
• Undergraduate degree in computer or electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline with financial background
• At least 5 years of experience as an analyst, architect or administrator in IT infrastructure, security
• Experience with development and administration of risk assessments and reviews
• Experience with audit processes and disciplines
• Experience with, more than one major IT discipline (e.g., distributed computing, networks, financial applications design and development, IT security and business recovery).
• Substantial knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, IT policies and standards, awareness and training approaches
• Familiarity with front and back office operations in the financial services industry
• Solid familiarity with relevant regional regulatory requirements
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, able to build relationships with at all levels.
• Ability to present technical information to non-technical persons
• Strong client relationship management experience and skills.

Desired Skills:
• Graduate degree in computer or electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline along with financial degree.
• Information Security/Systems Certification (ex. CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.)
• Experience with application assessments utilizing the Information Risk Analysis Methodologies (IRAM)
• Experience with Investment Banking, Prime Services Operations and Business Models.
• Experience with Investment Banking, Fixed Income Operations and Business Models.
• Experience with IT risk standards and industry best practice approaches, such as ISO 17799, CoBIT, COSO, ITIL, etc.
• Experience raising awareness of security throughout an organization
