Treasury Operations is responsible for the monitoring and movement of all of HMC’s cash requirements and for maintaining multiple bank accounts held across a network of global custodian banks and Prime Brokers to settle and to safe-keep the company’s assets.
Responsible for the supervision, training and development of the Treasury Operations team. Effectively delegate workloads and assign responsibilities. Issue and review professional standards.
Responsible for the integrity of the confirmation and instructions process for all cash transactions. Ensure all cash activity is processed timely and accurately, proactively monitor pending and settled cash wire and foreign exchange activity. Responsible for the proper posting of cash activity to the SMAC system. Ensure all exceptions are followed up on in a timely manner and that issues are documented, reviewed and resolved.
Maintain and ensure adherence to all the departmental procedures.
Maintain positive working relationships and assist in the evaluation of Custodian Banks, Prime Brokers, and FX Brokers.
Keep abreast of industry initiatives that have an impact on Treasury operations
Analyzing STP rates and looking for ways to improve them.
Monitor all cash balances and immediately resolve discrepancies.
Research issues that have been elevated from both internal and external sources.
Ad hoc projects upon request.
Monitoring and authorization of all wire movements.
Advising counterparty risk group on large value days and of issues with counterparties.
Manage responsibilities pertaining to business continuity preparedness, documentation, Disaster Recovery site visits, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
5 or more years of settlement and custody experience
Familiarity of global market practices including currency restrictions and SWIFT messaging types
Self-motivation, organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong desire to learn
Ability to challenge existing processes and offer solutions to improve where appropriate.
Strong Excel skills and experiencing of writing macros a plus
Well organized and an ability to work under pressure and meet strict time deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and an ability to interact with various levels in differing departments both internal and external
