The business unit Trading and Portfolio Management is an active trader on all of Europe's energy markets and the number one trader of continental gas (TTF & Zeebrugge) and power (France, Holland, Belgium).  By actively managing GDF SUEZ's positions in power, natural gas and other related energy products, they play a central role within the company by optimising GDF SUEZ's European portfolio. The Central Portfolio Management team develops and offers the most innovative products and services to our customers by combining physical delivery, transmission access and financial instruments to ensure that our customers get the cheapest energy prices. 

For our Trading Department, European Border Markets, we are looking for a Senior Trader for our East European power trading desk.  

Mission 

Together with our team at the desk, you will be responsible for :

• Proprietary trading in the Eastern power market (Focus on Poland, Hungary, Czk rep. and Slovakia)
• Communication and coordination of your trading strategies with the colleagues at the desk, and in co-operation with the management enhance the spectre of trading
• Maintenance of a high and qualitative level of market service for our portfolio managers
• Providing quotes to our origination desk
• Management of flows created by portfolio management and origination
• Participate in the development of the desk in cooperation with the management team

 Profile 

• You have at least 5 years experience in energy commodity trading
• You have a good knowledge of East European power markets, in particular Poland and Czk rep.
• You have an excellent knowledge of trading, both physical and financial power instrument, and master risk and position management
• You have a master degree in economically focused or quantitative discipline (e.g. applied economics, mathematics, statistics, finance)
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit
• You have good communication skills want to interact with colleagues
• You have very good language skills in English and preferably a good knowledge in Czech or Polish
• You are highly responsible, disciplined and set a pride in delivering quality work
• You are a team player who also enjoys having fun at work
