Being a fairly young organisation, our client does not yet have a structured HR function in place. Due to the continued success and rapid growth of the company, in terms of both revenue and headcount, our client is looking to appoint an HR Generalist to support the company’s expansion by putting in place the necessary policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be providing support to offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and San Francisco, which have a combined headcount of approximately 60 employees. This is a broad role and will encompass all aspects of human resources management including performance management, remuneration and benefits, recruitment, training, and talent management. One of the key initial challenges will be to design and deliver a performance management framework, which will help align company and individual goals, to ensure that business objectives are met. Immediate value can also be added by taking charge of the recruitment function and assuming a leading role in the upcoming benefits harmonisation project. As our client has not previously employed an HR professional, the development of this role will be heavily influenced by the successful candidate. Initially, there will only be minimal administrative support so you will need to be willing to roll your sleeves up. This opportunity represents the chance to build an HR function from scratch, whilst at the same time educating senior management as to the value that HR can add to the organisation. The remuneration for the role will be commensurate with experience and our client is flexible with regards to the seniority of the successful candidate. Experience in the financial services industry would be preferred as would some knowledge of the relevant jurisdictions. Asian language skills would be an advantage but are by no means necessary.
