The Role

The firm are looking for a candidate with excellent technical skills, strong Equity Derivatives product knowledge, and demonstrable ability to build effective, productive relationships with the trading and development communities. The role reports to the Hong Kong Production Management Team Lead, and as a senior team member, will be expected to drive Production Management philosophy and delivery to all interfacing groups in the Asia Pacific regions with minimum direction and showing strong initiative.

The requirement will call upon the successful applicant to deliver a range of responsibilities including:

• Production management tasks with initial focus on the Equity Derivatives / Risk platform but also involved with Cash & Prime Finance areas as required.
• Interface with Regional and Global development groups to ensure Delivery meets our high stability and capacity standards.
• Global Project work in the ITIL focused production management arena to streamline and drive forward our platform capability and associated controls especially focusing on our strategic plans.
• Detailed knowledge of all business flows, the application architecture and the hardware configuration for supported applications.
• Take lead where required under crisis management situations and effectively advise and communicate to traders.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and investigative support to business managers or compliance staff when existing systems are unable to provide the necessary data for these teams.
• Provide application software and hardware support including driving the development of tools needed to provide effective control and support.
• Define new operating system, infrastructure, application and business oriented monitoring alerts and coordinate their integration into existing monitoring tools.
• Escalate all unresolved issues to senior management as appropriate.
• Essentially take a view to safeguard the production environment and act as gate keeper for all changes to ensure development includes all necessary documentation for each request.

Your Profile

The successful applicant will have a strong mixture of the technical and management skills required in the role. These include but are not limited to:

Excellent communication skills and a good ITIL awareness (preferably certification). The leadership and team management skills including the ability to influence and motivate. Strong analytical and innovative problem solving skills. Positive and enthusiastic outlook and the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Ability to manage the following technical environment: Database: Sybase / Oracle & Languages: C++, C#, Java, Excel VBA, Perl/Shell. Platforms: Unix/Windows
