The business unit Trading and Portfolio Management is an active trader on all of Europe's energy markets and the number one trader of continental gas (TTF & Zeebrugge) and power (France, Holland, Belgium). By actively managing GDF SUEZ's positions in power, natural gas and other related energy products, they play a central role within the company by optimising GDF SUEZ's European portfolio. The Central Portfolio Management team develops and offers the most innovative products and services to our customers by combining physical delivery, transmission access and financial instruments to ensure that our customers get the cheapest energy prices. Within the Structuring group, we are currently looking for a Structured Trader Power & Gas. Mission As Structured Trader Power & Gas you will: - Quote and manage structured gas and fuels positions and implement risk management and trading strategies to such positions
- Develop risk management and trading strategies, in particular for gas and fuel contracts with embedded flexibility
- Make a market for complex products based on gas and fuel contracts
- Manage your own book of gas, oil and fuel exposures
- Support the design and development of structured products and management tools
- Propose new ideas to give to the company a competitive advantage towards its customers and identify new business opportunities and innovative structured products
- As a trader, you will consult the quant desk in their development and implementation of tools for pricing and trading structured products such that the end result is tailored to your requirements
Profile - You have knowledge of financial derivatives and risk management techniques as applied in energy markets
- You have good understanding of the European energy markets and key drivers of energy industry economics is a plus
- Experience with derivatives trading as a whole. Specific experience in energy derivatives trading is a plus
You have understanding of option pricing models, portfolio analysis and basics of mathematical finance You have a master's degree in economically focused or quantitative discipline (e.g. applied economics, mathematics, statistics, finance, or similar) You have 3 years minimum professional experience with trading activities and experience in energy trading is a plus (trading house, energy consultancy firm, energy company or investment bank) You are fluent in English, knowledge of any additional European language is a plus You have strong communication and interpersonal skill
