Core product group at Markit, focusing on CDS pricing, clearing, and credit indices (CDX).

Position summary

The individual will report to the Head of the Global CDS business and will be responsible for a variety of existing products and support the development of new products. With the many changes in the CDS market, this individual will play a key role in maintaining Markit’s leadership position.

Duties & accountabilities

Credit Event Auctions – Manage the credit event auctions held to settle CDS trades post credit event.

Markit Converter – Continue to develop and market Markit’s converter, an implementation of the ISDA CDS Standard Model.

Data Quality – Work with Markit’s partners in ensuring that the data received is of the highest quality.

Markit RED – Markit RED, as a key part of the CDS market infrastructure, is evolving to include additional data sets, and review the current process.

Industry Events – Participate and lead discussions on industry calls about market changes and what Markit is doing to assist market participants.

Credit Indices – be a subject matter expert

Education and experience

University Graduate required

Knowledge of Credit derivatives needed

CFA Candidate preferred

Commercial Awareness

High degree of commercial awareness. Needs to be motivated by commercial impact.

We need someone who is detail oriented enough to build high quality, superior products, but commercial enough not to be lost in the detail or unable to go on with the next task.
