Our client is a leading independent private equity group investing in mid-market UK companies. The investment team operates from London and they manage
more than £1billion of funds for institutional and private shareholders.
Working with the Head of Finance and a robust Finance and Executive team, you will have responsibility for all aspects of the finance function including a listed investment trust managed by the firm.
Your work will be extremely varied and project work is likely to take up a significant portion of your time.
You will also take on day-to-day responsibility for FSA compliance and gain exposure to the other aspects of the business.
The role will include:
Overseeing production of all aspects of interim and annual reports
Reporting to and liaison with the board of independent directors
Responsibility for internal management reporting
Aspects of marketing including liaising with industry associations
Some contact with analysts and investors
Liaising with advisors including brokers, lawyers and auditors
Forecasting and modelling
Close involvement in strategy reviews
Awareness of developments in the peer group and the wider market
Compliance:
Keeping up to date with regulatory developments
Liaising with advisors
Responsibility for record keeping
Skills and Qualifications
Very strong written and oral communication skills
Previous private equity or investment management experience is preferable.
Qualified accountant but alternative routes (e.g. MBA) are possible.
Possess a first class academic record and be very highly rated by your current employer.
Good technical ability, enthusiasm and ambition and a “can-do” attititude.
