We’re looking for a Data Manager to join our firm, someone who can be responsible for all the data and data infrastructure of our quantitative hedge fund.

Company Description

We are the next-generation hedge fund.  For over a decade, our outstanding people, half of whom have PhDs, have been developing the next generation of technologies, ideas, and strategies, three to four years ahead of our competitors.  We have been highly successful because of both our technically superior strategies and our brilliant people, a close-knit group of alumni from Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and other such elite schools.  This lucrative synthesis of human and machine cognition in an intellectually rich, supportive environment is at the core of our firm.  We support real-time, parallel processing systems in a Linux environment.

Job Description

Just once, wouldn't it be great to have the time and the clear mandate to get things done simply and correctly?  Wouldn’t you like to handle and design a system that you can really develop rather than just having to retroactively correct someone else’s mistakes?

We’re looking for a Data Manager to join our firm, someone who can be responsible for all the data and data infrastructure of our quantitative hedge fund.  In this role, you will be able take control of the fun part of our business: the information that drives our decisions, our models, and our people.  You will need to oversee full-cycle data processes while continually cultivating our technology infrastructure for expertly dealing with vast amounts of information.  Can you conduct quality research while also handling the interaction between the people, statistics, and technology that engineer our portfolio?

The Data Manager will create and execute a variety of techniques in order to work with the information we need.  You may be in charge of anything from creative data mining to leading technical innovation.  Further, you will need to understand complex system relationships in order to integrate your work into a useful format for both people and machines.

The person who can run these integral processes will be a valued member of our team, and your compensation will be in excess of industry norms, reflecting your critical role and our success.  Outstanding candidates will have the opportunity to earn upwards of seven figures.  We can offer someone exceptional the total responsibility for all our data.  Can you handle the pressure while continuing to execute at the highest level?  Whether working with third parties, reporting to the CEO, developing in-house solutions, or researching and implementing methods for data quality, your insights will have a tremendous influence on the direction of our business.

Job Qualifications

The Data Manager is an extremely important role that demands intellectual stamina and sustained drive.  Achievement matters here, and versatility is important in our small, entrepreneurial firm.  We take pride in our dedicated attention to detail in every element of our projects, and we expect no less from the unique technologist who can fill this valued role.  It’s a challenging, high-level position that only a rare few can master, but the rewards for your technical excellence are just as magnified.

If you prefer a collegial, informal environment with colleagues who respect excellence, submit your resume.  We need someone who can head meticulous large-scale projects that must amass every relevant iota of detail for our firm’s decisions.  The ideal candidate will have a PhD from a top program and a record of outstanding success in applying computer science, engineering, and math to solving real-world problems.  Please include your GPA and test scores.
