Our client is a global investment bank who is currently seeking an experienced project manager to join their equity derivative operations team.
This newly created position will form part of a specialised team where the primary activity will be to coordinate and deliver solutions to both Equity Derivatives Operations and Business Control, to consolidate and report operational risk.
The role of this senior project manager within this team will require the candidate to have very strong working knowledge of the investment banking “front to back” processes and a sound knowledge of the control environment that should be in place.
Strong communication and networking skills are a prerequisite as this role will have direct exposure to senior global management within Equity Derivatives Business and Logistics, Business Control and IT.
Moreover, the candidate will have strong product control experience and use this to deliver solutions related to the transfer of data between operations and Business Unit Control. This will involve, but not be limited to, the review of data files from the Risk Management system, the transfer and manipulation of data and the manner in which the data is used by Business Control to effectively produce P&L, Balance Sheet reconciliation and Valuation controls
The ideal candidate should be Degree educated in Finance or Accounting with at least 6 years of Product Control, Project Management and/or line experience in the Investment Banking industry. Knowledge of equity derivative products and the ability to identify control gaps with a control minded approach to develop solutions is paramount. Strong Excel skills and good system skills and ability to work with IT partners is essential also.
