ClearBridge seeks to recruit an experienced institutional sales/consultant relations professional to provide sales, marketing and territory management support for Clearbridge’s Institutional investment strategies.

ClearBridge seeks to recruit an experienced institutional sales/consultant relations professional with a history of selling investment products into corporate, public, and/or non-profit market segments. The primary responsibility of the Institutional Sales Manager is to provide sales, marketing and territory management support for Clearbridge's Institutional investment strategies. This involves coordination of sales and marketing efforts, consultant meetings/follow-up, project management, and collaboration with other members of the organization (including institutional marketing, account management, relationship management, compliance, and client service) to meet assigned sales goals.

The successful candidate must have a quantifiable track record of success selling to and building relationships within the institutional marketplace. This individual will have a demonstrated track record of successfully growing assets under management through the establishment of new institutional separate account client relationships with senior level buyers at the CFO, CIO, and Trustee decision-making levels. Relationships with consultants are a must. Finally, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, be committed to excellence, and have the personal presence and demeanor to represent ClearBridge Advisors with distinction. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

A heavy emphasis will be placed on relationship building across the institutional marketplace, and an ability to execute and service the needs of prospects and clients. The sales representative will also be responsible for critical market feedback around product development and product penetration. The ultimate goal is to increase assets under management and fee income across a diversified client base, while strategically building and positioning the organization's presence in the institutional marketplace. The individual in this position will work closely with Head of Sales to define the annual sales and marketing strategies for territory of coverage.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Five to ten years experience marketing investment strategies to the institutional marketplace calling on corporate, public, and endowment pension funds.
  • Relevant academic credentials, an M.B.A., equivalent degree or C.F.A. is a plus.
  • Strong relationships with appropriate industry contacts, including investment consultants is required.
  • Quantifiable track record of success selling and building relationships within the institutional marketplace.
  • Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and raise assets from new business prospects over a long sales cycle.
  • Strong consultative, relationship based selling skills.
  • Familiarity with Sales Force CRM.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Position ideally based in our San Francisco office but NY area applicants will be considered.
